Ericsson Inc. is off the hook for covering any of Apple Inc.’s costs stemming from an iPhone sales injunction the Swedish telecom giant secured abroad, a federal judge in Texas ruled Thursday.
Judge Rodney Gilstrap denied Apple’s request to order Ericsson to indemnify it for any costs incurred after a Colombian judge earlier this month blocked 4G and 5G iPhone sales in the country. The tech companies have been battling each other in court over licensing rates for standard-essential patents owned by Ericsson.
